The difference in bipartisan agencies is real. When I was at SEC, we spent what felt like endless hours with the R commissioners & their staff. Their access to info & staff meant they could pick holes in our rationales we had to fill. We didn't *need* their votes, but we very much wanted them.
Commissioner Slaughter and I just sued to clarify that we're still FTC commissioners. But this is bigger than us. This is about economic stability. If the President can break a 90-year-old Supreme Court ruling to fire us for no reason, he can do it to the Fed, the FDIC and SEC.
