This is what the inside of a bee abdomen looks like. Yellowish blobs are fat bodies, very white structures are parts of the respiratory system, pale white blobs along the centre line are ganglia (tiny brains)

Queen Bee absolutely riddled with crithidia - a gut parasite which has a flagellum. Some of them can be seen wiggling here

Parasitellus sp under a dissection microscope. Found under the wings of a bumblebee queen.

They survive from detritus in the colony

A single queen can have loads of these guys hiding out

What a bumblebees stinger looks like under the microscope. Notice it isn't barbed (unlike a honeybees) so it can sting you as much as you like (though they are rarely aggressive so you'd really have to piss them off to sting you again and again)
