hubs is hoping Baylor football is good enough this year to not make it to Espn+. had to explain to my kids why they won’t be able to watch some of their favorite shows. we are in an emergency and in our capitalist society money speaks. Resist authoritarian dictates on the media and free speech.

Summer nights = movies and homemade stovetop popcorn. Also my 13 year old telling me every 30 seconds what is and isn’t a part of the game as we watch Minecraft

The sign on the outside of the church door cites John 3:3 which reads:

"Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above" (NRSV)

Sic ‘em Bears! Love the new Foster Pavilion!

However- Customer service (standing room only tickets when have the seats are empty?!?) leaves something to be desired… definitely doesn’t have the family Baylor feel of the old days…

Lovely tour of the Dallas City Hall, and meeting Councilman Omar Narvaez. The city of Dallas is doing amazing things for equity and economic inclusion! Great to be a Baylor Bear AND a Texas Longhorn. :-)

Saw my Dad’s Christmas concert today. Singing has always been a love of his- a deep bass that you could feel. Parkinson’s has really affected that, so living at a place with a chorus has been a wonderful gift, and I’m going into 2025 with gratitude for this.

It’s my mom’s birthday today. I miss her a lot.

When I searched for a photo of her, this article from years ago popped up. She and my dad used the front porch of their 1920s home to create space for community and relationship.

Thankful for her legacy.

Council meeting tonight. Never knew I would know so much about sewer flows (and how the continental divide cuts straight down my district) and stormwater assessments.

Invisible infrastructure till it stops working… thankful for city staff keeping things going.
