Bizarre logic. So hypothetically a full-on holocaust-denying nazi-supporting channel would be immune from sanction for hate speech because that’s what the audience expected?

Funny how on 25 May 2019 she posted on The Other Place: “We need to revive the Olympic 2012 spirit - a modern, patriotic, enterprising vision of Britain.”

More fact free arguing. We have no clear explanation of what caused the two plants to drop out and/or what caused the oscillations in the grid. Until we have that, every party is just making it up to suit their preferred lobbying position.

UK/India deal is now; EU is still talking.

Politico reports on the UK deal: "An economic forecast by the British government suggests the deal will increase the U.K.’s GDP by £4.8 billion by 2040."

0.1% GDP growth in 15 years isn't much. Would a pan-EU deal have delivered more *to the UK* though?

"An economic forecast by the British government suggests the deal will increase the U.K.’s GDP by £4.8 billion by 2040"

So that's 0.1% GDP growth in 15 years? A positive deal is good but the impact seems minimal...

Why do you have to position this as ‘defiance’ of Trump? He hasn’t asked for UK / EU tariffs and has no business doing so. It makes economic sense for us to have an easier trading partnership with the EU, we don’t need any more melodrama to be stirred up…

‘Smart’/‘Stupid’ is missing the point. This is air cover. A large proportion of people just need a reason/excuse to follow - the more it inflames the other side’s sense of propriety the better.

A cutoff it one thing. But if you encounter it this isn’t just jumping off a cliff, you dive underwater and don’t resurface for another 40+k of income growth!

Excellent and detailed FT piece this week on the £100,000 "childcare trap".

If someone earns £99,999 and claims the Governments childcare subsidies, then a £1 pay rise can *cost them* £20,000.
