Yeah the quality of championship refereeing is absolutely appalling (the Conway penalty that wasn't v Sheffield Wednesday was wild) and I still wouldn't have VAR.

Yet to start the new series but previous ones have suffered by treating the lore as the priority. There's nothing wrong with a hugely entertaining monster of the week episode that only hints at the overarching series plot.

Yep. In the fortunate position where we're not relying on the extra bit monthly so the lump sum generally goes on something frivolous.

I hoping the general consensus is too pessimistic. We were pretty shocking for good chunks of last season and were still a last day win from the playoffs. Plus, who had the Mackems down for promotion this time last year?

Ha same! We only finished it at the weekend and seemed a perfect series to keep Cordelia and move her around the world solving crimes every couple of years

Yes. It's probably ten years since I reread Pride & Prejudice but I remember finishing with a very strong sense that Mrs Bennett was a tragic heroine and Mr Bennett a bit of a shit.

Yep. Last season was a big failure. Course it wasn't all his fault but enough of it was that I don't see why anyone thinks this is especially harsh.
