Did we just get a glimpse of one of the NGAD technology demonstrators in the new Air Force recruiting commercial?

(I’ve brightened these images for more detail)

If anyone’s watching the Twelve Hours of Sebring race today, pay extra close attention to the safety car (Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing) — my brother’s driving it!

So far, not bad
March 9, 2025 at 7:19 PM
This is an objectively bad take. America’s defensive support of Europe, like its effort to stabilize shipping lanes the world over (and more) aren’t acts of charity — they’re the source of much of America’s diplomatic leverage.

Influence is geopolitical currency.

Quick comparison I whipped up for the original F-15A versus today’s F-15EX.

The value of these changes aren’t just about replacing gauges with screens, but streamlining the way information flows to our pilots, reducing cognitive load and allowing them to focus on what matters.

The guys at Hermeus were kind enough to provide me with 3D models of their Quarterhorse and Dark Horse hypersonic aircraft for a video that I’m working on!

I may not be able to print in titanium like they can, but I’m still stoked to get these printing!

And the custom magnetic stand is incredible in itself!
March 7, 2025 at 2:08 AM
Just got home and had this incredible piece of custom cutlery waiting for me!

A few months ago, I reached out to Hintze Custom Knives and asked if he could build a Klingon D’k Tahg… and he told me he wasn’t sure, but he’d try.

I would call this a RESOUNDING success!

I look like I flew to Denver to teach a community college class about the history of low observable aviation. 😂

The Martin Baker ejection seat may be able to handle my weight… but I don’t think you’d be able to close the canopy of the F-16 with me in it…

Lockheed Martin’s new CMMT cruise missile with a big doofy oaf for scale.
March 5, 2025 at 12:46 AM
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, asking someone what they think of the F-35 is an excellent way to quickly assess their media literacy.

Also, F-35s have officially crossed 1 million flight hours.

New images (and render) of Lockheed Martin’s CMMT™ (pronounced “comet”) low-cost air vehicles being unveiled today.

The drop test shown in the third image was to demonstrate the system’s ability to integrate with Rapid Dragon

Aligning with despots isn’t American.

That is not a political position. But I know people are going to act like it is, because people who have made political warfare the foundation of their identities can’t tolerate criticism of anything from their “side.”

And that sucks too.

New image released by the DoD, taken from the X-37B at what seems (to my untrained eye) to be a very high earth orbit.

This shot was taken during a flight that tested aerobraking maneuvers to change orbits with reduced fuel requirements.

1/5 scale AIM-9, AIM-174B, AIM-120 are all finally done!

1/5 scale AIM-174 with its first coat of paint!
February 17, 2025 at 8:40 PM
Posters are up! Still working on the new missiles.
February 17, 2025 at 7:06 PM
Just got our new AirPower framed posters in! I only have room for two at a time in my background though…

Decisions Decisions

Jeeze, the Typhoon class were genuinely massive submarines.
February 15, 2025 at 5:53 PM
Changing up the background in my office once some new posters arrive, so I figured I’d print some 1/5 scale ordnance to replace the 1/8 scale ones.

New AMRAAM (before paint) compared to the old one.

3D print of the Caution and Warning System control panel from the Apollo command module — exactly what my office needed!

As much as I love the show Firefly, when they said, “you can’t take the sky from me,” they probably didn’t know about the ASM-135 Anti-Satellite missile.

Remember, if you’re cold, they’re cold.

Bring your F-35s inside.
