There's a bit of nuance here. We don't generally have people hired permanently as historians per se, but some form of education in history is not uncommon among our designers in my exp. We also occasionally take in consultants for specific regions or periods and so on to assist with specific content

We'll paint that map with the scarlet letters of the revolution.

Maybe Papers, Please? Terraria (potentially in Co-op) if they're into more free play stuff. Celeste with the accessibility options could be interesting as well!
