I think it's because they operate the machine of it all like The Wizard of Oz, all the bells and dog whistles are sounding off, and many people think "yep they're cutting waste and my life is going to get better, they promised and look how vocal they are about improving things"

I think this is because they only see "interest", they are fueled by the simple principle of "firstly how does this benefit me".

I've adored Sylvan Esso for holding the "realness" at the heart of their music. A few years back they did a big live thing with a ton of their mates doing the production instrumentation love, and everyone just was full of joy. It was lovely.

If it was the suffix rather than the prefix I'd be more forgiving of the idea - jazzlads, cakelads, egglads etc. Whereas Lad Eggs is horrendous and must never be read.

Just down the road (read 20 miles) someone keeps putting a load of peeled bananas on a plate in a suburban street on the first Tuesday of every month. It's driving them to distraction. Top quality work, mysterious banana artist.
