And of course the deal is being made between Israel and none other one as still existing Hamas itself because the goal of exterminating it was unattainable from the very beginning.

Now, after a year and a half of bloodbath in Gaza we know that the hostages could be released without any military intervention, so they unnecessarily spent all this time in captivity, and most of them were killed by the Israeli actions.
