For the coming return to the spoils system, perhaps some light reading is in order. We had a merit based civil service, but that is being systematically destroyed and Trump is replacing competent people with incompetent sycophants.

Trump wants to make a crypto reserve fund stocked with a few flavors of crypto coins. The only sensible conclusion is that this is a giveaway of our money to large scale holders of crypto. The coins the US stockpiles will increase in value and the large holders will profit immensely.
