Distracting services like social media and TV aren't intrinsically harmful.

What's harmful is building a habit of constantly switching b/w meaningful work and mindless stimulation.

This trains your #brain to abort to mind-numbing activities at the slightest hint of a challenge.

The world of online business never stays still.

Procrastinating by way of "wanting to learn as much as possible" first makes your knowledge stale and obsolete.

Your time producing must exceed time consuming.

People quit the gym after 2wks because they don't see results.

People quit learning a language after 3mo because they can't hold a conversation.

Your requirement for insta-dopamine is severely limiting your future.

Kill your dopamine addiction, and winning becomes inevitable.

You need VERY FEW things to start building an #audience:

- A laptop
- A skill (or an interest in a particular skill)
- 20 minutes a day learning about that skill
- 40 minutes a day writing about that skill

Ultimate tip to avoid the trap of analysis paralysis:

For every 1 hour you spend reading / researching / asking questions,

You must log 4 hours of productive work--

As in you produce something.

One of the greatest lies that society drills into you--

That at a certain point in your life, you lose control of what's happening to you, and your life becomes controlled by fate.

Few idioms drive me up the wall more than "If it was meant to be, it'll be.”

The goal isn't to avoid distractions completely.

It's to train yourself to resist entertaining them whenever boredom hits.

Consciously practice this every day for 90 days.

You will acquire superhuman levels of focus.

What are the best ways to grow a following on #bluesky?

This platform seems to be pretty different than the others.

Why should people pay attention to you?

- How much do you KNOW about your skill / industry?
- How OFTEN do you post about your skill / industry?
- How DEEP does the content you post go?

Give people these 3 great reasons to pay attention to you.

Don't worry about making the wrong decision.

Worry about taking too long to make a decision.

You are guaranteed to make mistakes; it's fine.

What's not fine is standing still.

I hit 20 followers on #BlueSky!

Person A makes $500k/year working 60 hrs/week. They're obese and have no time to make friends or meet a spouse.

Person B makes $150k/year working 15 hrs/week. They're in the best shape of their life and spend plenty of time with friends / spouse / hobbies.

Who's richer?

100 people on a diet open a fridge.
- 50 have water in front, soda in back. (Group 1)
- 50 have soda in front, water in back. (Group 2)

Group 1 will be FAR more successful.

People choose products based on WHERE they are,
not WHAT they are.

Adjust your environment accordingly.

Treat your time with the same respect you treat your boss / spouse.

If you're working on something important to you, do not be available for:
- pings, phone call, emails, distractions.

Your goals are more important than your availability.

Once you strike gold with your own business, it's the #1 most addicting feeling in the world.

In 2016 I was making $73k/year working 60+ hrs/wk.

I started an e-com side hustle that generated $300k in sales in 4 months.

I'm emotionally incapable of ever going back to being an employee.

The most successful #entrepreneurs you see today
started putting in the daily work years ago.

The most successful people you'll see in a few years are starting to put in the daily work today.

If you feel regret with your life choices,

don't teach your kids to make the same mistakes.

There's many different ways to live a good life.

A lost day hurts your dreams.
Two lost days in a row kills them.

Never fail to practice your good habits 2 days in a row.

Your business isn't failing because you don't have the best logo/ tech tool.

It's failing because you're spending more time on non-value-add tasks instead of direct revenue growth.

Avoid hamster wheel syndrome.
Focusing on the wrong things is as bad as doing nothing.

2024 was an incredible year for investors.

If you had an amazing year like I did, don't forget to set aside 5-10% to spend on something that brings you joy.

Building your money snowball to accelerate retirement is important, but don't forget to enjoy the ride along the way.
