I’ve been extremely low-key fascinated with Irish Setters ever since devouring Big Red when I was little.
I finally got to meet one in person yesterday and they’re gorgeous!

No doesn’t have the foggiest idea of lunging, is terrified of having someone at his side, and would rather lock his front legs and pivot to face you than move forward.
Something tells me he might ground drive, though.

Mo had a tiff with his pasture buddy. He is now in solitary confinement (a private paddock) and seems to have no regrets.

We now feed him a little grain at the mounting block and he’s become much less anxious.

First sit on Mo today. He was wonderful, just wonderful. Going to be a winter of walking and gradually building weight and top line. He’s got a huge step when his hind end engages!
