I must admit, I have never found that argument convincing. The idea that Germany needed *more* societal upheaval in 1918-23 is odd. And it’s very hindsight-y to argue politicians of early Weimar should have been working to prevent something that would happen 14 years later

No I wasn’t confused, I teach a course on the Troubles, I was just doing a goofy post in a moment of euphoria. A lot of people from Northern Ireland would consider themselves Irish people, no? My maternal Irish immigrant ancestors were both British and Irish simultaneously etc etc etc. Good night 😴
