I thought these were big, and then I saw you two. They're humongous! Left one is very cool.

Everything tux-related was rented. I should probably go ahead and buy a set of studs/cufflinks, but I'm sure I'll lose them.

Translator is certainly key. Yoonhwa does the ordering.

Yes! This place was VERY expensive. Not mediocre, but also not worth it, in my opinion. Modern fine dining KBBQ. maps.app.goo.gl/Lm3rWy3eMiCv... I'd say go traditional. We went to a decent all you can eat place in Flushing, and there are a bunch in Koreatown. ATL is probably better for it than NYC.

None of the individual observations were new, but the writing and delivery were perfect.

But I agree with what you wrote on Effective Altruism / Applied Rationality. These people were eventually mostly shunned by those communities, but the break was not originally over the ideas they professed (which were totally insane), but that demonstration they staged.

Yeah, like I don't even know where to start

I think it depends. I think the usual case would be that the public comments are probably just things to be responded to, but will have no effect on the outcome. But it's not impossible that they would make adjustments based on the comments.

I hate being hard-sold because I feel like I'm getting scammed. So my surprise level here is zero.

It sounds more hardcore than it is. I just have a weak stomach–even moderately hard leg work does it. After the lift, a wave of nausea hits me. The separation between cause and effect means once I start to feel it, it's already too late to do anything about it.

Maybe it makes me an inferior... exerciser? gym-goer?, but when I'm on the verge of vomiting from burpees or squats or whatev, I quit and do not feel bad about it. I'd like to think those around me are also better off for it.

Totally. Or even if you have bars. If there's no tow truck available soon, might be worth it to just take the loss.

Yeah, that's a bummer. I read that in Seattle, it was overcast at peak aurora last night. There was some faint action visible as morning approached. Couple of nice videos of it floating around.

It should be your last resort though. If it's a slow leak or if you have any other option, I would avoid it, as I believe it will ruin the tire and the tire pressure sensor. But there are obviously situations where it's worth it.

The only thing unusual was how close the lightning was, but that's just random chance. Storms of that intensity happen semi-frequently once it starts to warm up, but I'm still always impressed. That last strike was amazingly loud in person.
