I'm in two core writing classes for my degree, and we are workshopping in one this week. Both people I workshopped with clearly used AI because there are things in the stories that don't make contextual sense, but are written with flowery language.

My orange babies had their Elizabethan cones taken off a few days ago. They're fixed and have all of their boosters. When they were abandoned on our doorstep they were covered in so many fleas, had no energy, and so tiny. Now they're healthy, clean, and full of chaos. They fear nothing.

I should be adding to my fantasy WIP. Instead, I'm down a six-hour rabbit hole about the Knights Templar because my husband mentioned how they took vows of celibacy. I knew immediately that there was no way they stuck to that (shockingly, they didn't - or weren't near the end).

I may or may not have sent my husband the first seven chapters of my alien smut story where I talk at length about the alien warrior's *almost* too large eggplant twice. This is to prepare him for the following two chapters where spice will happen.

While it's important to touch grass, I suggest finding somewhere you can look at the stars. Look into the vastness of space and feel comforted that it existed before us and will exist after us. Feel existential comfort instead of dread.

Between writing an 8 page lit paper and a 6 page music appreciation paper, I'm losing my mind. The tenets of Russian Formalism and Structuralism have been branded behind my eyes. Toccata and Fugue is on a loop that I can't stop.

The last week of editing has been me putting "*transition sentence" all over the place. I've got it tattooed on the inside of my eyelids at this point.

Thinking about when I was in high school everyone was talking about the show 30 Rock. However, I thought they were saying "3rd Rock". Since I'd just moved to a new city, I wanted to connect and decided to watch the show... I watched all 6 seasons of 3rd Rock from the Sun thinking that was the show.

I've been having a friend alpha read my alien smut book while I edit a different story draft. She sent me a text saying, "No! I'm gonna cry."
Needless to say, I feel confident that the story is going to have the right impact when I release it. My goal is to have it out sometime late this year.

Remember to be kind to yourself and breathe through your stress cycle. Let yourself feel what you're feeling. Don't try to make logic of your emotions before you let yourself process them.

Since deleting social media from my phone I've finish a lot. Four chapters of pure alien smut has been written. The first fantasy WIP that will kick off a massive book series has been outlined. That fantasy world now has some very solid worldbuilding with a magic system, map, and cultures.

No one warned me that reading the first draft would be like this. I'm one part interested, one part confused about what I was trying to say, one part dreading writing the 2nd draft, and internally screaming as a whole.

I love newsletters. I enjoy checking my email and seeing that writers that I adore have sent updates on their stories or when they drop tidbits about the world they're building. I, also, love getting them from journalist I read often. I like getting news in newsletters.
