They’re all the same variety of mushroom (Boletus edulis, aka porcini) and they’re one of my favorites in terms of how much personality each mushroom has.

When we serve anything with wild mushrooms in it we always make sure it’s noted. It can make people wary for a number of reasons, to which I guess I will add mushroom sentience to the list lolol

Generally, true, but in this case, what makes this one both very large and very high-quality is the tightness of its pores where the gills would be, combined with the general lack of nibbling by bugs. It’s firm, dry, and huge. Almost ideal.

I love “gran” as an option. My mom insisted on being Mumsy which was fine I guess but it’s what I used to call her to tease her, specially using a terrible British accent so … idk.

Same only it’s my foot. Swelling basically gone, pain essentially gone (I can FEEL it to walk on it but it doesn’t hurt if that makes sense). I assume our bodies both wanted us to chill.
