We met her in 2001. She was so inspiring, signed her book and gave an autographed pic to my daughter ~ a 'tireless advocate' for nature!
*She stopped looking into cameras by 1990s. The flash damaged her eyes. That's HOW much media she did to bring about awareness! Respect.

I lived in the Soviet Union as a child and watched as my father worked so hard for democracy for the U.S. *He even saved the US flag from burning when it 'caught' fire in 1979 ...
Never thought I would live to see an American president grovel before KGB-era Soviet leader.

@jrandyt.bsky.social Funny story about my dad. As a young Captain, he was put in charge of being Bobby Kennedy's 'bodyguard' on Army post and later was to follow JFK in Frankfurt, Germany (on post) and then as JFK traveled the area. One of my fav dad pics - he smiled right at my dad!
