I listed all the tools I used in the credits to make clear the process (and thanks to graphics guru Lauri for making the credit graphics).

I absolutely think that AI model companies should pay copyright for what they use in training. But as a creative, I wanted to see what it would allow me to do.

I have a lot of sympathy for your view, but as a director I wanted to experiment with using it as a tool. I scripted, storyboarded and treated each shot as I would a normal shoot. I did not allow it to make artistic decisions.

I understand the many issues AI raises for the creative industries.

Don’t forget not-for-profit alternative publishing platforms too… (like my own octopus.ac but there are others) Might require more of a change of practice for some researchers, but for those willing to try, it fixes more issues with how scientific research is done/communicated/by whom
Octopus | Built for Researchers
Get started with Octopus, an open access platform where researchers can read, review and publish findings at all stages of the scientific process.

I am a documentary maker in a film. I never have to get consent forms signed or worry about legalities of broadcasting footage I’ve shot of young people, victims, or accusing people of things. I can film perfect footage in near darkness, never have to film cut-aways, and have unlimited memory cards.

You should be able to get a refund at ticket counter. (I have done worse when I turned up at airport for return flight that had left the day before…)
