If you're looking for Christmas presents for someone aged about 9 to about 14, my book is set in winter. It's snowing! Inside Stitchwort house we have log fires, cosy blankets, tea and hot buttered toast. There's also a mystery curse, a ghost or two, and a whole family with magical abilities 🕷️❄️🕸️❄️🕷️

The Rebel Reading Society (over on Instagram) are doing a free live author event for primary schools. They also arrange school visits, classroom book boxes, live author zoom chats for the students, and all kinds. Please share and spread the word to as many teachers as possible!

I'm supposed to be getting ready to go out, but putting this book down is impossible.
A hardback copy of Hemlock & Silver by the genius T. Kingfisher, lying on my duvet surrounded by the contents of my makeup bag. The duvet is blue with a pattern of yellow stars on one side, and mushrooms and foliage on the other. The book cover is black, with a red apple in the centre, cradled by a snake made from woven foliage and flowers. I'm halfway through the book and it's SO GOOD! I discovered T. Kingfisher earlier this year and I'm reading everything I can get my hands on. I walked into the library and this was on the new arrivals shelf!

I took this photo two weeks ago, on Halloween, and have only just had chance to post it! Where did autumn go? There's Christmas lights everywhere. I'm not ready!

The books are School of Doom by Sarah Harrison (would love to read a sequel, fingers crossed there'll be one coming) Thirst by Darren Simpson, Cackle by Rachel Garrison (read for the Poisoners Cabinet podcast book club, then totally forgot to log on for the zoom meeting) What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher, The Devouring Light by Kat Ellis, The Company of Ghosts by Berlie Doherty, and Keep Your Friends Close by Cynthia Murphy. This is the most books I've read in a month for years, I think it's because I've changed schedule and now have 3 hours a week on a bus. Brilliant for getting a lot of books read!

Beautiful work at one of the local churches here in Devon!
A remembrance day wreath attached to a black iron gate. The wreath is at least 3 feet across. The flowers (poppies) are all hand knitted and crocheted. The 7 in the centre are yellow, with a circle of 12 white poppies around them. The rest of the poppies are in shades of purple. All the poppies have black centres. It's very beautiful and must have taken AGES!

Completely vanished.
My little tabby cat, Willow, sleeping on the arm of the sofa. She's lying on a cream knitted blanket. The arms of my glasses are just visible on either side of her. No idea how I'm to extract the glasses without disturbing the cat.

Our ginger cat, Heimerdinger, curled up on our bed sleeping. Which is where we'd all like to be on a Saturday morning! He's lying on his left side, facing the camera with his head upside down, and we can see his little toe beans. He's pale orange with darker stripes, and a pink nose. My ball of crochet yarn is on the left, you can just about tell it's purple on the outside blending to orange in the centre. The crochet piece is draped over the yarn and coming across the front of the book, filling the foreground. The pattern is rows of skulls, and they look very similar to the skull in the O of the book title, Inkbound. The book's brilliant, btw, go and read it!

'Clearing out the greenhouse' pasta bake for tea tonight.
Even better it wasn't my greenhouse, it was my neighbours, and my son was doing the manual labour, not me 🥳
