Spoke with the movers today who will ship everything back to the USA (after about a decade living in Europe), and it struck me how much space becomes entwined with the self. Leaving a physical home feels like ending a relationship.

And to ring in the fall I made butternut squash soup 🥣

Introduction! I am a recently confirmed PhD in French Studies (Early Modern) focusing on the court of Savoy in the 16th century. My focuses include archival research, Neo-Latin, Middle French, and theories of intertextuality and reception. I often post photos of plants and cats (e.g., my apple tree)

I will be presenting a paper on Renaissance self-fashioning in Pingon's 1567 Neo-Latin + French autobiography on 7 November at TCD - some other great topics will be covered as well! Looking forward to hearing these papers.

I keep saying it will be my last day at the shelter, but then it never is… so hard to say goodbye to these petits bébés, especially this little orange guy who I fostered 🧡
