Shafik put us on this path, and they just keep doubling down. I know this is who “we” are now, but it is still heartbreaking and unbelievable.

As a TC alumni, we don’t get emails like this (yet). Bailey seems like a solid guy. At my convocation, he subtly threw shade at the admin, but now that grants have been cut, I know it’s a matter of time.

I keep thinking Bollinger would never have let it get this bad!

But yesterday, for the first time in five years, I finally spoke with someone who could actually help. Huge shout-out to Ms. Priscilla, the first truly competent and genuinely kind person I've encountered at MOHELA. You got my loans back on track in 24 hours, and I'm incredibly grateful.

Due to poor management on their end, when my loans were refinanced the first time under the IDR recount, I lost eight months of PSLF credit and had to file a formal complaint. Another round of refinancing followed that, just to try and set things right.

This entire process has been a massive headache. It took over a year and a half to get MOHELA to fix my account.

I went into this debt fully intending to use PSLF to subsidize the cost of my degrees, which I use in service of work that helps change the lives of underrepresented and underserved students as they get certified to work in the healthcare field.

For the most part, this is only because of planned obsolescence. Yes, part of the problem is that technology changes, but if we had the right to repair it, we could upgrade components so we can keep them going as they age/die.

They also seemed to start carrying Strawberry Banana protein-infused Nesquik, which I am pretty sure no one in their right mind asked for!
