I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to do my part in advancing civics & social studies education in the U.S. as an IES reviewer. Projects that moved forward synthesized best practices, created new ways of thinking about civic learning, and addressed the civic realities of all students.

As silly as it seems now, I even went as far as projecting the #CUFA14 feed onto the walls of the hallway where much of the physical action was happening. Those efforts yielded wonderful moments of joy, laughter, and thoughtfulness, captured by a hashtag, which was ultimately the goal…
