An important detail about the Bible Society report #QuietRevival is that 1/3 of churchgoers aged 18-54 are ethnic minorities. I suspect a lot of the “revival” has to do with migration and “reverse mission.” www.biblesociety.org.uk/research/qui...
The second key finding of the report. It explains “In addition to absolute growth in churchgoing, including among the white population, the Church in England and Wales is also becoming more diverse. Just under 1 in 5 churchgoers (19%) are from an ethnic minority, but among 18–54-year-olds this rises to 1 in 3 (32%). At the same time Catholicism has risen sharply and Pentecostalism has become the third biggest Christian tradition, with the share of churchgoers identifying as Anglicans dropping steadily.”

Today, hosted a delegation from the Presbyterian Church of Korean (Tonghap) at @uoedivinity.bsky.social.

I gave a presentation on World Christianity and the history of mission at New College, traced back to Edinburgh 1910 which included a Korean delegate, Yun Chiho.

Yesterday evening, @uoedivinity.bsky.social colleagues and I celebrated with alumnus Rev’d Dr Junsoo Park who was inducted as minister of the newly established Newton Presbyterian Church. It is a church plant of Busan South Presbytery (Presbyterian Church of Korea, Tonghap) in West Lothian.
