The SPC has already issued a 30% risk area across much of southeastern US for Saturday, which means numerous severe thunderstorms are expected. Current forecasts are showing the potential for a significant tornado outbreak, with all other severe hazards looking possible!

In contrast to the warm weather much of the United States is feeling right now, current forecasts are calling for a much colder than normal January across the eastern and central portions of the country.

An Enhanced Risk for severe thunderstorms has been issued for portions of Southeastern Texas. All hazards are on the table, with conditions supporting the formation of damaging winds, large hail, and possibly a couple strong tornadoes. For those in the risk area, stay weather aware this afternoon!

Ocean effect snowfall has been occurring for hours over the Cape Cod peninsula in Massachusetts, producing over 1.5 inches of accumulation according to recent reports.

A cold front is expected to move through the northeastern United States on Wednesday, bring damaging winds and heavy precipitation across the region. This has prompted the issuance of High Wind Warnings and Wind Advisories along much of the northeastern US coast through Wednesday night.

Another (much weaker) Alberta Clipper shows up tonight, bringing a widespread 1-3 inches of snow with a bit more in the winter weather advisory areas. Snow will be just about gone by midday, setting up a much milder afternoon. #MAwx #CTwx #RIwx #NHwx #MEwx #VTwx
