This is also a workers’ rights issue. My fellow airline workers and I shouldn’t be required to facilitate deportations. We didn’t sign up for ICE. This action would hold airlines accountable too. Major US air carriers, subsidized by our tax dollars, shouldn’t be profiting off of mass deportation.

Thanks for the note, it’s been considered. Now is a time to get in the way, to gum up the works, to find ways to slow the process. We must constrain mass deportations until we get power back for a legislative solution. This does that. No realistic option is perfect, but inaction is NOT an option.

The goal of this specific campaign is not to just be a watch dog for abuse, but to end the abuse. Though, to your point, reform efforts will most definitely be needed for the other vehicles of deportation.

Thanks for listening and for your questions!

They would fly charters like Avelo Airlines with ICE contracts. The difference is Avelo has a fleet of 22 aircraft. The 4 main US carriers have 3,790 aircraft. Ending access to commercial airlines significantly limits mass deportation… One big piece of a larger puzzle. More action will be needed.

Thank you @binthed.bsky.social! Yes, it’s cruel to migrants, and morally compromising for other travelers and crew members. And if the Trump admin lost access to the 45k commercial flights a day in the US, it would limit the flow of mass deportations. Thanks for helping spread the word!
