Wonderful. Also, was in Leeds this week and similarly struck by its buzz and beauty.

What is immoral is not adjusting immigration policy (and really more importantly, economic and education policy) to reduce numbers coming in or even increasing outflow. It is tearing up an established contract between the state and law-abiding individuals who were told they had permanent residence.

It’s horrendous, but also as @sundersays.bsky.social has pointed out it is not just one MP’s immoral aberration, it appears to be official party policy…?

It’s immoral and unfair and un-British and would materially (and rightly) damage our reputation in the world.

Well yes. OfS have publicly floated this as a possibility. The hard political and economic reality of implementing such a policy hasn’t become any easier since the last time it was floated and abandoned, however…

I suspect that something has been lost in translation/interpretation en route to this article..

Such transparently anti-democratic, anti-British, intolerant, divisive and dangerous forces must be recognised, resisted and condemned.

This is absolutely true but those millions want to see the significant and growing threat to the country posed by anti-democratic, intolerant and racist movements (+ their cynical leaders) explicitly recognised, resisted and condemned. Need Government + Parliament as a united front against this now.
