Turns out purple wire sleeving is a thing, so of course I had to.

Printing parts for a Duender #3dprinter conversion.
For a space model only, no strength or heat deflection resistance needed, so disposing of some silk PLA on this job - it will look unnecessarily fancy!

Celebrating the successful completion of a new internal web app for my business like I coded it myself and didn't just watch AI vibe code it for me...

Calling #3dprinting and #plastic #recycling nerds, has anybody tried to use a hot knife tool to cut large 3D prints down for shredding or melting?
Only if you actually tried this/have similar experience can you let me know how it worked out, how did this vary between plastics?

Done for now - Cisco switch was easier to set up for now as a simpler 48-port switch while I learn about the Juniper kit.
Next up ordering some patch cables, setting up mini-pcs as Linux and Windows automation servers.
These, a tower PC and a screen and keyboard will all fit in the Billy bookcase.

Plenty more work to do but midway through installing my #3dprinted #networking rack in an IKEA Billy bookcase.
Such an improvement from containing the bundle of cables from the floor in a neat patch panel!

Saturday job, sorting out the network wiring here at Edumaker, this is going to be so much neater when I'm done. If only because I can vacuum the area!
No job complete without #3dprinting - here, a 19" rack mount, printed in one piece in FormFutura RePET violet.

Nothing compared to the violence inside the 3phase granulator!

That's definitely an option.
Success with the literal hot knife though!

Ok, getting somewhere with a more office friendly approach:
Heating the cut line with a hot air gun, and scoring it repeatedly with a big knife, also getting some heat into the knife...

Is there a tool that could be inserted into a drilled hole and spread the hole apart til the part cracks?
I'm sure I've seen such a thing but I can't think of the name...

OK #plastic #recycling and #3dprinting nerds, I need some ideas please.
I sometimes need to split big, very solid 3d prints to fit into my grinder.
Looking for low mess, office friendly ideas???
I've looked at log splitters even, too bulky.
Currently I drill holes and snap over a rod on the floor.

Your PSA that today might be the last chance to download Windows 10 installer ISO and boot keys creation tool easily and officially direct from Microsoft.
Finishing up a PC rebuild session at Edumaker, now running on Windows 11, Raspberry Pi OS [Linux, for Pi and x86] and RISC OS 5.

Designing for #FDM #3dprinting, remember that corners create points of maximum stress and therefore weakness - especially along the grain of the print.
We can add fillets to internal corners, hugely reducing stress - but what if that would interfere with the fit?
Shift the fillet into the part!

Why yes I absolutely *could* have #3dprinted this drive bay adapter in black so nobody would know it wasn't OEM, but where would be the fun in that?
Just one of hundreds of small ways #3dprinting helps around the office here at edumaker.

Thought I'd do the corporate thing and celebrate edumaker's 10th anniversary in #3dprinting business with... a banner under my email signature. Why not.
ChatGPT was the perfect tool for such an 'original' idea. I quite like the logo it came up with for me after a few prompt corrections...

Very cool to see #3dprinting materials from @prusa3d.com made especially for #space applications!

That feeling when you have an idea for a BIG #3dprinting project that sat for way too long on the back burner because of the investment needed for uncertain outcome, and a critical component becomes available for #upcycling?
Yep that's a 2000x650mm toughened glass print bed now!

Celebrating Edumaker's 10th anniversary by catching up on #3dprinting side projects, including a filament winder which will complete our #recycled filament extrusion line...

Edumaker is 10 years old today!

We're celebrating a decade of #3dprinting business, prototyping, education, research and pushing boundaries.

I want to thank everyone who has supported us so far, and I am very excited about the things we have to come!

Feeling good about having absolutely crushed the technical debt out of a long running OpenSCAD codebase for #3dprinting custom case inserts.
Special cases that had built up are eliminated [pardon the pun] and it's back to being parametric AF, which is how I like to roll.

Practically infinite stock of the right sized electrical fixings.
