Found old photos, stock full fairings & the Ricambi Weiss bodywork & put on then sold again.
& what the SS looked like when I first built it up to race trim (apart from tyres). 🙂
Question is what way to go with the SS? I’ve got a lovely 796 Monster so can afford to think about this properly.

To be fair the Garmin Watch isn’t far out, in the past I’ve found it to read under slightly.
Last time I got properly checked with mask & sensors on my VO2max was 49.
Garmin Connect is telling me right now I’m “superior” 50 overall & cycling is 49.
Not bad for an old person with an asthma history

Still got the SS, one day I’ll figure out how I’m going to convert it back to a road bike.
Tried some aftermarket bodywork on it, wasn’t convinced so sold it again. Still not sure if I go stock or do something cool. Bikes 21 years old now so doesn’t owe me anything.

Nice. I only ever got as far as modifying race body work with glass fibre to make it fit my bikes better.

Nice. I only ever got as far as modifying race body work with glass fibre to make it fit my bikes better.
Probably best I did was making 1098 fairing fit my 800SS that I built for Minitwins. Bit of buggaration but made it work. 🙂

The prototype parts are probably 3-D printed in plastic then put in the wind tunnel for validation before making in CF.
The bike bicycle manufacturers are doing this now with plastic bicycles & they don’t have Honda budgets. Speeds up development time.

The deaths of riders is tragic but numbers should not be retired.
The loss of 69 was awful, but wasn’t even on a motorcycle.
The method doesn’t make sense either e.g 39 retired in Moto2 but not in the other classes.
Then retiring retired racers no’s is even less sensical, 65 for example.

We are seeing auction prices of pre 1980’s bikes fall as the traditional buyers are too old to ride or no longer with us.
My generation are buying 90’s ZXR’s Fireblades & Gixxers.
They ain’t buying 50’s & 60’s pretendineering.
