This was painstakingly obvious to anyone who dipped their toes into this space, but too many people fell for it because of their need for high-minded, lofty debates about abstract ideas instead of the actual content of people's words.
Odd that we rarely hear the “Twitter is the new town square, so all voices must be heard” argument anymore.

It was always dumb, as the emergence of Bluesky demonstrates.

But they’re gone silent on politically neutral moderation. It’s almost as if it was never really about free speech!
