Writer.
Persistently drafting her next flash fiction to get rejected.
Constantly musing on that novel.
Repeatedly interrupted by life.
Happy to share I'm helping judge "The Booby Prize" a new and exciting quarterly global flash fiction contest with a first prize of £500 which supports a great cause;

I apparently haven't changed in 13 years.

Nova wanted snuggles... or at least my daughter did. And Onyx wanted to help write.... or my chair, not sure which.

Recently getting into audio books, but worst part is I can't highlight and save my favorite lines. Just finished this one and was able to jot down one that stood out:

"...who's face holds a map's worth of lines."

Update on my daughter becoming a villain:
We are watching live action Cinderella and she sees a few dresses and asks if she can wear the wicked step-mother's dress.

I mean, she's not wrong. It is beautiful.

I'm so excited! I get to be an Advanced Reader for "how to Find a Nameless Fae" by AJ Lancaster, and I am a huge fan of their The Stariel Series and I highly recommend it. Now I have to get started on this new stand alone!

Had this little guy for a little over a week and I might be a little sleep deprived because of it. But who doesn't want a cute puppy picture on their feed? His name is Onyx.

My local little library had this book and I'm excited because it's a pretty cover and I know I downloaded a sample a while ago to read but never got around to it. If anyone had read it, hype it up for me!

It didn't advance any further than making it into the showdown. But I'm still happy with it and how it did.

Ahhhhhh! I'm so excited. Doubt it will go far, but fingers crossed!🤞

Not as high scoring this time. 8.38 still a good showing. And the awards were nice!

If you wonder what it's like having a co-author on a novel, it's a lot of random realizations that go like this.

Submitted my Writing Battle. Now I just need to stop touching it.
Also, have you seen this owl in the Writing Battle Banner? I love them.

Exit Strategy by Martha Wells has some great dry humor.

I actually wrote and submitted two microfictions and redrafted something I am still hoping to submit by the end of the year. But that was on Friday. This weekend was crazy busy, so no writing. But I did make cookies.

I hope all your holiday preps and/or writings are going well.

Sometimes, I don't know why exactly a book or line makes me laugh so hard. Everytime I read this to one of my kids, this page gets me.

Sometimes your only kindle highlight doesn't even have that much to do with the rest of the book.

"...the lobby smelled of layers of bureaucracy, built up over years of casual disregard for logic and ease of function..."

Twisted Tournament Round 3, 18th place? I'll take it, gleefully! Less awards though, which to he honest, fair.

🥰

Well, its a sick day for my son, which means he's too tired to object to what I choose to read him. Its The Hobbit every time. He falls asleep right away. I just want him to love the book too! Lol
