It's driving me nuts. For every brick she lays to maintain the bridge, Trump is swinging a demolition ball.

What is she doing????

Do it, see this thread as 'the story so far/catch-up thread'.

Also, I'm curious.

Hubris incarnate.

Salvini and his party are members of the government coalition. He's not a friend of Ukraine (see exhibit 1).

Unlike many other populist parties in Italy, she openly was, and is, an atlantist.

In the past days she tried (foolishly and pointlessly) to elevate herself to mediator between the US and the EU.

What certainly influenced a weaker stance on Ukraine is Salvini (the Italian Le Pen/Farage).

We'll see how far Meloni intends to push with the "atlantism" charade.

She wants to be the mediator between the U.S. and Europe. This is ultimately impossible with the current administration.

I hope a miracle occurs and she chooses to cut a significant role for Italy in Europe instead.

They're winning in Ukraine as much as Germany was winning in WW1.
March 3, 2025 at 6:55 AM
Wait, now that the US doesn't stand by Ukraine anymore, doesn't that mean that they should switch to support Ukraine?

Appunto, non penso ci sia più pubblico per questo genere di mosse. Un colpo totalmente a vuoto e privo di senso, francamente patetico.
March 1, 2025 at 10:26 AM
This is worse than appeasement.
March 1, 2025 at 9:50 AM
Veramente ridicolo, non capisco il senso di questa mossa.
March 1, 2025 at 8:52 AM
I hope you're right.

Would you look at that, they did something similar in fascist Italy.

It was all about trying to have people make more children.

It didn't have much success.

Yeah, that's the bottom line of this reasoning path. It seems so extreme that thousands of people hallucinated like that. Maybe *they* were the AI all along.

I'll wait for more info to know exactly where everyone stands in this. I genuinely hope we won't need Datacenterland to run these models.

This is exactly what I don't understand: they knew that, someday soon, some entity would come and rug-pull their datacenter-building empire. None of these tech giants thought about developing a more efficient model? None of them sought of being where DeepSeek is now? What am I missing?

Hey Andrew, this should be day 153! You wrote 151 a second time on the 23rd.

You might argue that obviously this is due to the lower number of users on Bluesky compared to other social networks.

True, however it was a close call!

P.S. To all "Alessandri Mazze" out there: no hard feelings. Your struggle was and is my struggle. Good luck with "alternative-nickname" hunting!
