Yay! It’s like childhood, isn’t it? Have you tried using the rainbow as a clipping mask so you get coloured lines on a white background instead? (If you don’t know how you do a clipping mask let me know your software and I’ll tell you (it’s different for all of them because of course it is 🙄)

I’m using Adobe fresco, but it would work just as well in Procreate, Photoshop etc. I just did a big, blurry rainbow splodge layer and set it as a clipping mask over my linework layer (reduced the opacity a bit) and then I just linework as usual in black.
