@sauer_lauwarm In our field, the decline is just a click in the email, no login needed. The moment you publish something, you implicitly agree to being approached for reviews. that's how the system works. A minimal reaction to that is part of the job.

Related to that is the skill to NOT put problems in front of people, but the solution that you prefer, if possible a solution that makes life for the other side easier.

Small correction: It's not that a lot fewer people come to the UK. Just a bit. It's that a lot of those who are already here and previously came to the UK want to leave. I wonder why!
