oh i fully agree— i also don’t think they have as much of an ecological harm so not smashing them *isnt* an issue, either, it seems they’re just readily adapting to new environments in the way that armadillos and beavers are, too. just interesting to see it listed alongside more imperiled insects

interesting that the ailanthus webworm moth is on here, bc i feel like its a weird one. its native to some part of the us but invasive w/the tree of heaven (which its, for some reason, named after, vs. its native host plants?) so i feel like 90% of the US could safely smash it too

like… the reason shops charge “way too much” compared to ur kitchen tattoo guy is bc we put in so much effort and education into mitigating harm & creating a lasting tattoo and that means buying disposable drape sheets, sterile needles, ongoing education about bloodborn pathogens, etc….

i want to help spaces become tattoo friendly and able to do tattoos safely bc i love tattooing. but i feel like some folks *don’t* want that bc it means increased costs & regulations and they just want to make more money off their clientele bc regulations means being held accountable
