This piece is about the self-destructive side of deep depression, hiding underneath the surface.
I am sure though that having an incredibly sore throat a few weeks back was, at some subconscious level, a seed for this painting.

I wondered how often the figures central to most notable events pretend their humanity is genuine when it is merely a mask hiding their predatory nature.

These two pieces were among the first after a 13-year or so pause in art. The reasons for this hiatus are complicated, but they revolve around mental health and life events that made the process of painting incredibly painful. In 2019, I got an ipad and that helped me return to creating once again
