The world produces more than enough #food to feed everyone.

Yet it is shamefully misallocated.

BigAg firms make more profit by exporting food for animal feed, biofuels, or ultra-processed foods, than selling it to poor people. 1/3 of all food is simply wasted.

Only politics can end world hunger - IPES-Food
"Hunger persists because we allow injustice to endure. Food isn’t scarce but many people can’t access it.” To give people access to food, we must confront power & inequality.

Lower our taxes, billionaires say, and we'll give back via philanthropy. Yet the US public massively subsidizes that philanthropy, which tends to self-serving, profoundly undemocratic, and subject to political winds. New from @theguardian.com via @motherjones.com & @climatedesk.org

What are the ways forward for climate action under Trump?

National policy is foreclosed. But a lot can happen at the state and local level. @aldasky.bsky.social and I argue that we must embrace green economic populism, tackling the cost-of-living crisis and the climate crisis together 🧵

I have started a newsletter, which is really more of a killjoy diary so that is the title of the first post. Hopefully, more to follow. Even shorter and snappier if I can manage it.

It will remain free.
