Happy to report that I finally own the ‘KICK’ album on CD thanks to somebody posting about INXS right here on Bluesky. It jogged my memory of how much I liked every single that came out of this album.

I drew Mando much like a previous illustration I did of him: simple and muscular. I wanted to stay away from realism with this iteration of Mando. Mondays can be rough. I want to invoke a fantasy world that fans of The Manadorian can enjoy. I used my drawing as a template and completed the illustration using Macromedia FreeHand MX today.

I drew a pencil drawing of it first (not shown) on February 14, 2021 and completed the vector art the day after. I updated it today (August 18, 2025) with my signature, displayed in cursive on the bottom right-hand corner, "Alec A. Sarkas".

Vector illustration I did of Madonna's face. The original pencil drawing I did of it (not shown) and illustration was made last year (2024). I have updated it since with this version. I used macromedia FREEHAND 10 to do the vector art. I used the cover of the "Borderline" U.S. 7-inch single as a source. This illustration is stylized to look very 1980's and shows only her eyes, nose, mouth with a bit of her shoulder showing. She's looking directly at the viewer and it's signed by me, the artist, in cursive, "Alec A. Sarkas" on top of her shoulder in the right-hand corner.

Here’s an action figure I have that I picked up only recently from a small shop. It’s Princess Leia Organa from ‘Return Of The Jedi’. It’s original and from 1984. I stopped collecting figures at that point because I was 14. It’s missing all the accessories but I am thrilled to have it! #StarWarsToys

I made this little guy out of a pizza box years ago. I was tearing down a pizza box and the way it looked I thought it looked like a guy. All I had to do was draw a face on him. I hope this makes whoever spots this smile like it makes me smile. I love this little guy! #arts #crafts #paper #cardboard

Listening to this awesome #CDsingle from #DepecheMode which includes the original cover version of #Route66, a personal favorite of mine. This disc, numbered 21, continues the 3 CD single box sets that preceded it in the U.S. I love it, even if it’s a Digipak and isn’t printed with fluorescent ink.

I’ve lost track of when I got this but came across it randomly in my collection of figures. It’s Princess Leia Organa with her hood down and up. The articulation is superb even if her rubbery skirt restricts it some. Gosh, I miss Carrie so much but I’m glad I was around when she was. #StarWars #toys

Playing this CD by #JoyDivision. It’s ’Substance’, the first album of theirs I bought. I knew #NewOrder had an album with the same name when it was released in ‘88 but it was my cousin that told me when we were both summer vacationing in Greece that New Order, Joy Division, and #Warsaw were related.
Photo of my CD copy of the Joy Division album ‘Substance’. This compilation edition was released in 1992 and seems to be an import (not made in the U.S.). It’s in a standard jewel case with the cover facing forward. It’s standing upright, focused on my kitchen table. The booklet is in it the correct way (I think) which makes the cover turn sideways. So, I have it with the spine of the CD on top. This is an alternate cover to the original release. It has a large, stylized ‘S’ on it and within it the text “JOY DIVISION” and “1977–1980”. Surprisingly, I found it at a great price at a local shop. Maybe they didn’t know the rarity of it? I don’t know if it is rare but it’s super valuable to me!

Indulging myself with this album by #RickAstley on #CompactDisc. I bought the #NeverGonnaGiveYouUp 12-inch single pretty early on and love every mix of that brilliant song on it but I only more recently bought the album it appears on before I saw him live in concert with a friend. I was star-struck!

I just read the news that #TaylorSwift now owns all her own music as I’m up late on a Friday night listening to my copy of #SpeakNowTaylor’sVersion. Bravo to Taylor! The single #Mean was what made me a fan of hers because of its message. #Pittsburgh is my “big ole city”. What’s yours? #KindnessRocks

I’m up early listening to this, one of my favorite @bananaramaofficial.bsky.social albums on #CompactDisc. It’s #PopLife, the last studio album of my favorite group as a trio. #SaraDallin, #KerenWoodward, and #JacquiOSullivan lay down the signature unison vocals that makes Bananarama sound so sweet!

I paused a frame off the #NewOrder video for “Round & round” from my #VCR and drew #ElaineIrwin back in 1991. I was in college. Pausing then #drawing from a still off a VHS tape was not easy. The VCR would stop the tape after a few minutes and I’d have to find the same frame all over again. #artwork

It’s signed by me (the artist), Alec ‘91. I’m huge into recycling and using all materials around me: even when I was 21 years old! So, back then I took a bunch of stray manila papers, cut, tore, and stapled them together. What you see here is the first page. This was done during my downtime in 1991. It was something to do. I never continued with the project, so I have a bunch of paper left to draw whatever I want on them. Digital technology is great but whatever artwork we do on computers, phones, tablets, etc. will not last. All digital files will eventually be lost forever as technology moves on to the next phase. That’s why I draw everything I do for myself on paper first. Those drawings I do on paper will last and be around for future generations to look back and wonder what life was like in, let’s say, the year 1991.

Freshly #unboxed this week there’s my #JoPolniaczek 8-inch #actionfigure from #theFactsofLife TV series made by #Mego. She completes the set of 3 that were released in 2018. The character is a tough, independent yet caring teen who was introduced in the 2nd season played brilliantly by #NancyMcKeon.
