I don’t miss the movie world but I do miss these two, who said yes to end-of-the-world, tiny budget mini documentaries of brave women in distant places. Happy encounter yesterday :)

Took advantage of my day off to see the beautiful exhibit by survivors of the Panabaj survivors in Santiago Atitlán. Just today and tomorrow at CCE in Antigua Gua.

Feb 13, 2018. I’m in DC moving between meetings when I see @stephencolbert.bsky.social riding a segway. A few miracles happened: I thought something smart to yell and attract his attention. I did not lose my voice. Stephen responded, turned back, took a selfie. My most fruitful 5 minutes in DC.

Went shopping this morning and, for the first time ever, I stopped to think global politics in front of the egg section. BTW, US$1.00 = Q7.80 do the math.

Adapting to climate change is key to the continuation of sustainable economic activities and conservation in the Maya Forest. This need is perceived by local partners who experience first hand out of season storms, rising temperatures and longer droughts. #Guatemala #MayaForest #Petén

A perfect field visit with a massive late-season storm that, in words of a local partner, “reminds us why Yaxhá is a Ramsar site”. @nature.org

Pondering over our fantastic week of science now that I am back in Guatemala and ready to visit our key partners in Petén. Thinking baselines that make sense to @nature.org, but, most importantly, to the people and communities protecting, restoring, transforming their livelihoods.

Cinco días de sólo ciencia en la reunión de ciencia de @nature.org Guatemala bien representada ❤️‍🔥. Five days of just science at the OCSG. Good Guatemalan presence.
