My current situation is that I have a 3D product and I need to localize it in many languages. Having the possibility to automate this inside AE (i.e. with essential properties) would be so much convenient

Actually I should have asked "when we will able to assign precomps as textures of 3D models?" :)
The uv pass would be a workaround to achieve a similar result by using a plugin like ft-UVpass or PixMap.
