a little over 1 day remains to vote for my first gunpla project of the year.
the random British dude who says “Turn A Gundam” at the beginning of the opening like it’s his first time ever reading the line is hilarious. who is he? why did they think that was a good idea? why did they record on the worst mic ever made? all questions that we can never know the answers to.

my new year's resolution is to try to do something gunpla related every day (starting in a few days when the poll on what kit i should do next ends).
i'm sure there will be days where i can't for one reason or another, but i really want to make a dent in the backlog this year.

it only took three whole months, but i finished up the Astray Red Frame Kai tonight.
my first painted kit, and my first time using an airbrush. i made a ton of mistakes, but learned a lot about process and technique that will hopefully make future kits quicker and better.

here’s how the Astray currently looks as of a few days ago. got the new hands put back on as well as the waist.
i put some color on the leg pieces last night and it’s looking good. should be more on that soon.

i saw on the back of the manual that they had painted the knuckles of the hands white, and i was thinking “hey that looks cool. i wanna do that,” so i did. looks a lot better than just all red.
i actually sprayed the white and hand-painted the red. dunno if that was best, but whatever.
