We borrowed 4mb for six months then had to give it back fuck me that was bad. The worst job was converting the RGB tiffs out the scanner to CMYK for the printers. It took about 20 hours for the 8 pages of colour we had and would sometimes crash so we had to watch it the whole time. Magical times!

Me and a mate started an A5 Scottish motorbike magazine in 1994. Done all our own scanning on a HP deskscan, had a 486DX25 PC, used Pagemaker, was hard work with 8MB of ram hahaha. Toughest job was getting 150MB of files to the printer, ended up with a 230MB MO drive, which was like sci-fi

The 2004 CBR1000RR launch was at a track near Phoenix, next to the huge Luke USAF airbase. You were genuinely distracted by AWACS and F-15s taking off as you went down the straight. The track was then closed for years by noise complaints from neighbours, open on certain days now with a 96dB limit.

Aye the K5 has a longer stroke than 2009-on models, though still a fairly short stroke engine in general terms. Good luck with it!

😅 story I heard is they developed it then shelved it to save cash, so it’s ready to go but would need homologated. Maybe their new Adriatic chums can help there. Or something!
