Working up a rainbow braid for commission
Lazy day of sleeping in and taking naps. Took the dog out to get treats and toys at the pet store and a pup cup. Time to relax and read or craft while the boyfriend plays a new video game.

Petra was promised an after dinner walk today as soon as she was cleared by the vet. One slightly damp 1/2 hour later we have a happy pupper. She has missed this the last few weeks.

Petra is in a MOOD today. Sedatives wore off in time for me to get home from work. She spent 1/2 hour doing everything the vet said not to. Barked at us during dinner. Finally got her settled with a chew toy.

4am the anesthesia wore off. Poor thing is not dealing well with the cone. We have clearance from the vet to switch her to an inflatable collar.

Petra ran errands with me today! She did really well and got to pick out a toy and a bone to chew on as a reward. She loves pup cups. A little work is needed getting out of the car but nothing we can’t handle.

Lizard rescue update. Bacon is doing well and his jaw is getting more closed. He is active and snacks on his greens by himself but needs assistance with his gel diet. He is still a menace and likes to climb.

Week one update. She is doing amazing and working hard at basic obedience training and fitting in with our family. We have only had a few less than stellar behaviors and those were expected. We could not be happier with our new dog.

Petra not giving a shit about armored combat, crowds, dogs, or kids at Sunday practice. We have gotten soo lucky with her. She will make a great event dog.

My body hates me for jumping into two 20min walks a day with Petra but I am having fun and so is she. Tomorrow is our first vet visit, Saturday is a DnD night, and Sunday is her first fighter practice. She is really doing amazing.

For the love of god if your dog is not friendly warn people approaching you with another dog. We had a run in with an aggressive husky on our walk. Nobody was injured but Petra was not amused when he barked and lunged at us. I would have avoided them if warned.

Petra did really well on her first day without me or Shida. She waited until I got home and took her out to pee. She is doing super well with her leash manners (we still need to work on waiting for mom to go out the door first). We are currently playing fetch with her favorite toy.

We are going with Petra for the new fur baby’s name. She is learning about cats and going potty outside. So far she is adapting very well to our house. She needs basic obedience and leash manners training but her behavior has been exceptional in this early stage of her being here. Pic for tax.
