These past few weeks I have been digging into the latest budget proposals from the Mayor’s office. While I see areas of promise, I can’t support a $21-per-employee head tax that would hurt job growth and investment in our city.

The ongoing River bridge closures—especially Cortland—have caused major traffic strain. I joined colleagues in urging the City to act fast and find creative solutions. My office will keep pushing for better communication and the quickest safe reopening.

Alderperson Knudsen launched an ICE response toolkit, a living document that will continue to update based on what is happening on the ground.

This toolkit aims to be a resource guide for people who are concerned about ICE’s abuses of power, and want to turn their frustration and anger into action.

2501 N Clark is approved! This site will have 20 new mixed-income units and ground-floor retail.

Demand for housing, especially affordable housing, is rising. That’s why I'm pushing for responsible growth that delivers more housing, and revitalizes the Clark Street corridor.

Chicago is the third most popular city in the U.S. to be a dog owner, and I am proud to introduce the Dog-Friendly Business Ordinance to further align with this fact. When it comes down to it, this is a pro-business and pro-neighborhood ordinance.
