Unfortunate but how is this surprising. The F-150 Lightning couldn’t tow as well as GMs offering and has a not so great charging curve. Depending on how you use a pickup, GMC Sierra EV, Rivian R1T, or Chevy Silverado EV might be better options.

The reason I didn’t recommend an F-150 lighting to a friend last year was because of the slow charging speed. The reason I’m not considering a Mach-e for a family member is the same. If you read past the headlines you’ll notice the EVs that aren’t selling well have poor charge curves.

And it can be cured with leucovorin. Or, eh, vitamin B9. You just can’t make this stuff up.

Fantastic. But what about all the existing broken EVgo DCFC? I will actively avoid EVgo when on road trips because they’re broken more often than not. You can’t make a profit on a broken DCFC.

Poorly worded. My charger (EVSE) has no TOU plan. My home is on a TOU plan. I selectively charge when rates are lowest. I have two ‘dumb’ EVSEs so I rely on my car to charge in a slot with low TOU rates.

There are plenty of better options these days.

One of the best vacations I ever took was one where I didn't have any hotel reservations. I checked in to a hotel in the location where my journey took me. It was fantastic and I was able to see things that I would otherwise never had visited. It's a shame these girls left with a different lesson.

Until the SC network supports 800v in most locations it seems premature to implement native J3400 on an 800v EV. I passed on the 2025 for this reason alone because I didn't want to use an adapter for every public charging session.
