Almost like football analysis is entirely built around generating clicks rather than genuine analysis. Have long find the entire thing is completely bad faith and tiresome. And I’ve U Turned from consuming everything to very little and hope more do the same. Needs to change.

City fan mate of mine always says the post-CL away matches are underrated by the media in terms of difficulty and I agree. That, plus difficult away match plus absences was always going to a stretch. Frustration is I think if we make a couple of decisions definitely we win that - which says a lot.

And my only other reflection is whether we could have rotated more mid-week at the back if we weren’t looking for that record. Think Hincapie would have been a good 30-min option if fresh. All hindsight anyway as if Raya stays on his line we win that.

I also think we invited that pressure with the Mosquera sub. No slight on him at all, and I do get it when managers do that, but we had players like White, MLS, Nwaneri who could have given us more energy and play more of the final stages in their half.

Arteta is like Pep - elite framework to get the ball to the talent up front as much as possible and then let them do the business - but our talent level just too decimated atm.

A year too long and when they haven’t got the PSR headroom to do so….replacing VVD, Konate and Trent (wait on see on Kerkez) is a big ask on a budget.

Buying guys from Serie A in a position where pace is pretty important is a big no no for me. Looks too top heavy and quite lumbering in a position in that system where you really want someone covering distances rapido

It was either take it or never manage in the PL again. Genuinely shocked they took a punt on him. Tactically found out and seemingly takes little responsibility for his failings.

Agree and this was the big thing which I thought Gyokeres would help remedy. Early days but his physical abilities aren’t translating like I thought they would - which is a worry.

PSG got the best out of Dembele by converting him from an inconsistent winger to an elite false 9 option. Have we too quickly ruled that out as a path to minutes for Martinelli?
