Unapologetic worm lover. I am a real doctor (phd) but I'm not a real worm. Current Adjunct Professor of Microbiology.
i have an easy rule: I upgrade whenever they make a phone small enough for my little hands. They haven’t done that since 2021 so I’m still rocking the iPhone 13.

Deans are usually also professors though, aren't they?

I like this, but it won't fit in the tower cubby in my computer desk from 1999.

Probably easier and more efficient to build them at the bottom of the ocean.

Geothermal power stays winning as the best renewable.

That's about the same rate as drunk drivers crash and a DUI is a pretty serious offense.

I could have biked to elementary school in the 90s, but my school specifically banned it. Also there was no school bus. The only option was being driven by a parent.

I think it would be more accurate to say we’re running out of CEOs who are willing to spend money promoting new ideas.

Least surprising news of all time.

The only bad thing about Dropout is that every show is excellent and I have limited time to watch it.

Oh, the same post office these guys are trying to defund and privatize? That post office?

I propose a new law that if a lawmaker continuously defaults to "I don't know" about something under their purview, they are determined incompetent and automatically removed from office.

Yeah, I'm an adult, my friends and I are almost never free at the same time to play games.
December 12, 2025 at 6:31 AM
Do not, my friends, become addicted to water. It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence.

There’s many problems in gaming but speed running is not one of them. I don’t even get the appeal, but they ain’t hurting anyone (and sometimes speedrun strats can help us regular players beat hard bosses).

I don't know off the bat, but this is going into my repertoire of icebreaker questions for first dates.
December 10, 2025 at 12:19 AM
I can see it. Miss Piggy is Mina, Kermit is Jonatha, Dracula and Van Helsing are the only human actors. Fozzie could be the cowboy. Gonzo will spend the entire movie trying to get bit by Dracula.

I mean I prefer old english as a concept since it sounds awesome and has some cool letters we no longer use, but I also cannot speak it or understand it in any way.

Lol how tiny are the houses you're heating that MICROPLASTICS would do anything? Also adding air pollution. And requiring the population, the vast majority who do not care to comply? If the wastewater treatment plant does it, it's all take care of at once source.
December 9, 2025 at 12:27 AM
I mean most water treatment issues are dealt with centralized instead of having filters at every home. It would also solve the issue of what do individual homeowners do with all the microplastics they collect in their washing machines.
December 8, 2025 at 7:03 PM
I imagine they’d just put the filter in the water treatment plant instead of every washing machine.

Forbidden hand roll.
December 8, 2025 at 5:25 PM
My parents had a similar thing, except it was combo'd with what my dad called "the scottish frugality" so my mom would figure out how to get a very expensive high quality thing for a fraction of the price by thrifting and bargain hunting.

Also, you can sign up for multiple libraries even if you don't live in the city the library is in (sometimes you might have to visit in person to get the physical card).

Folks, if you gotta get a hepatitis get Hep A, that’s the one that probably won’t cause chronic liver disease. If you have a spare $90k that you want to burn, you could consider Hep C since it’s curable. Hep B, not even once.
