Can you say why the UK is the outlier in accepting the principle of tariffs? Surely, we can't be the only vulnerable country?

She is looking a lot like IDS.

Agree. Great stuff.

Why history matters in one incredible image

In an ideal world, of course Poch should have been backed when he talked about the need for a painful rebuild. But I give Levy a pass on that one. Getting the stadium built was crucial to securing the club's long term future. It was the right choice.

How was Sugar better than Scholar? We won one trophy under Sugar and quite a few with Scholar.

What I find odd about all this is why Labour is pursuing a "Theresa May" strategy in this proposed reset. The EU has consistently rejected Cakeism. Starmer and Reeves know this. So what is their objective here?
January 26, 2025 at 4:36 PM
He was the one that worked. I'm not Levy out because despite all the fuck-ups, the club is in a better state than when he took it over. I still remember the Sugar years. Even grimmer than now.

Poch?

Don't get my hopes up.

He already told us last season that his style of football leads to muscle injuries. He said it would only last one season. It hasn't.
January 26, 2025 at 4:06 PM
This injury situation is Ange's fault. We're in a death spiral.

Expecting a club update tonight.

That's a straw man argument. But it is of course the reality that the players are the club's assets. So just from a purely business perspective, Ange remaining manager is damaging. My main concern, however, is the football consequences of the current situation. I want my club to win games not lose
January 19, 2025 at 5:50 PM
I'd agree with you. But for Ange, they are pretty identical.
January 19, 2025 at 5:42 PM
Eh? If you don't win your bread and butter league games, on what basis do you expect to win a cup? That's proper entitlement talking.
January 19, 2025 at 5:40 PM
Yes, we are. That's the reason why Ange's first half set-up against Everton was such a surprise. But even there the broad philosophy stayed the same: keep pushing forward and don't bother about keeping it tight at the back.
January 19, 2025 at 5:39 PM
Yes we do. It's his default. Bloke takes pride in not changing his philosophy. Also, there is absolutely nothing any board can do to manage this sort of attrition. One of the reasons for getting rid of Ange (aside from the horrible results) is that he is damaging the club's players.
January 19, 2025 at 5:24 PM
He asks them to play full throttle all the time. High defensive line. No reel settled possession. Puts a massive toll on players. He told us it would take a season for the players to adapt. It hasn't.
January 19, 2025 at 5:17 PM
Are you honestly saying that the manager has no responsibility for what we're seeing?
January 19, 2025 at 5:12 PM
The way he asks players to play invites muscle injury.
