My third Christmas movie of the day was a rewatch of the 1951 A Christmas Carol. I’m partial to the George C Scott version (it’s the one I grew up with) but this one is great. Sim’s Scrooge lacks the gravitas of Scott’s, but he seems more human. He’s lots of fun to watch.

Today we commemorate the Holodomor, a genocide, perpetrated by Stalin in Ukraine in 1932-1933.
It caused at least 3 million deaths.
Let's not forget that the same desire to destroy the Ukrainian people drives Putin, who is also guilty of multiple crimes of genocide.
