I struck blue gold whilst on the Lizard last month. A large colony of scrumptious Riccia crystallina. Much better than the ones I saw at Marazion in 2024

We went to look for it whilst in Cornwall last month. Unbelievably - as we got near the grid ref I had - we came across these lovely ladies. They were only carrying out a survey of it! Think I might have struggled if we hadn't met them

Taraxacum vanum, 3rd British record, North Lincolnshire. By far my best dandelion find of 2024. The handbook really doesn't do it justice, it's quite beautiful

Really pleased to rediscover Sphagnum squarrosum on Hatfield Moors recently. First record - and a new site - since 2007 as far as I'm aware

Wasn't expecting to see this chap today on Hatfield Moors. Sympetrum striolatum often fly until early December on the moors, but I assumed last week's cold spell would have finished them off

Seeing @finleyhutchins2.bsky.social recent post ref Culbin Forest reminded me that I finally saw Cladonia sulphurina there last winter. Another 'most wanted' Cladonia
