There's a lot of divisiveness between groups of people and identities. There's also a lot of people reaching to each other and finding new ways to connect and communicate and build solidarity and mutual aid. And there's a lot of people rethinking what it means to be alive as an individual with power right now. @blackspectrumscholar on the bootleg meta bird app One of my favorite ways my autism manifests is that peer pressure has little to no effect on me. I genuinely don't care about being "cool" or fitting in just for the sake of it. If something doesn't make sense to me or I don't see the point, I'm simply NOT doing it-no matter how much social expectation is attached to it. It's freeing, honestly. Peer pressure doesn't just not work on me-it actually makes me less likely to engage. The moment I feel like I'm being pushed to do something just because everyone else is doing it, my instinct is to dig my heels in and resist even harder.
